MMP is pleased to officially welcome Ma’am Evelyn Naval, Administrator of the Optimus Center for Development, as one of the newest faculty members of MMP’s Certificate Course in Early Childhood Education.
Ma’am Evelyn facilitated the course “Curriculum in Early Childhood Education (ECE)”, held on August 22 and 29, 2026. As part of her presentation, she also highlighted the distinctive features of MMP’s curriculum and its application in early childhood settings.
MMP currently has 8 student teachers officially enrolled in the course. We are grateful to Ma’am Evelyn for sharing her knowledge, experience, and passion for quality early childhood education with our learners.
At MMP, the journey continues through meaningful discussions, continuous training, new beginnings, and a lasting legacy. Each conversation opens new possibilities, each training equips and empowers, and each relationship creates an impact that reaches the next generation.
ONGOING TRAINING
MMP held its first Refresher Course on August 15, 2026, focusing on “Assessment in Early Childhood Education: Learning Through Observations, Portfolios, and Learning Stories.”
The training introduced practical and developmentally appropriate approaches to assessing young children’s learning and development through observation, portfolios, and learning stories. It was facilitated by Prof. Elizabeth Anne King-Santos and attended by 87 participants.
This refresher course provided early childhood educators with practical tools and strategies to better understand, document, and support each child’s learning journey.
ONGOING DISCUSSION
On August 25, 2026, MMP met with I-Syoot, a multimedia production and communications company specializing in advocacy, documentary storytelling, and strategic campaigns. The meeting was part of ongoing discussions toward a possible joint initiative to address the continuing challenge of reading literacy in the Philippines.
While the PISA 2025 results showed a 20-point improvement in the Philippines’ reading performance from 2022, significant gaps remain, with only 31% of Filipino 15-year-olds reaching minimum Level 2 reading proficiency. The discussions explored how MMP’s experience in ECE and literacy development, together with iSyoot’s communication and advocacy expertise, could help promote reading among vulnerable and underserved children.
ONGOING LEGACY
Another testimony of how MMP’s training impacts lives across generations. Teacher Kay is the daughter of one of MMP’s partner-school teachers. Her mother is now serving in missions in another country.
Kay and her sister came to MMP to explore ways of partnering with us through their new church, where they are planning to establish an Early Childhood Program in a non-formal setting, known as a School Readiness Program.
And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. 2 Timothy 2:2 NIV
It is truly encouraging to see how the training received by one generation can inspire and equip the next to continue the ministry.

Preparations for Remedial Reading Program – October 30 MMP began preparations for a proposed partnership with I Syoot Multimedia Production Company, the group behind the G-Diaries video of MMP. A Zoom meeting was held, to be followed by a face-to-face discussion on November 18 at 2 PM, exploring a Remedial Reading Program in response to the PISA results showing lower reading levels among Filipino children. In the week prior, selected MMP teachers were interviewed by MMP’s Director so their classroom experiences could inform the proposal. The following day, a face-to-face meeting was held at Good News Learning Center in Marikina City with senior MMP supervisors to brainstorm and conceptualize program details. The team prays that the Lord will bring this project to fruition, opening doors for MMP to contribute meaningfully to the reading needs of Filipino children—your prayers are truly covenanted for this endeavor!

Even small acts, guided by faith, can make a lasting impact. The question remains: how will you be a catalyst for change today?
